Ice Cream Chef / Artisan Ice Cream Maker

Small Batch Creamery – St. Petersburg, Florida

Creating Smiles One Scoop at a Time

Small Batch Creamery is looking for an experienced Ice Cream Chef who is passionate about handcrafted frozen desserts and takes pride in creating exceptional products from scratch.

This is not a scoop shop position.

We're looking for a culinary professional who enjoys recipe development, precision, consistency, and producing premium artisan ice cream using the highest quality ingredients.

What You'll Do
  • Produce premium small-batch ice cream, sorbet, gelato-inspired flavors, and seasonal specialties
  • Prepare mixes, pasteurize, age, batch freeze, package, and label products
  • Follow standardized recipes while maintaining exceptional consistency
  • Scale recipes accurately and understand ingredient functionality
  • Develop new flavor ideas and limited-time offerings
  • Prepare inclusions such as cookies, brownies, brittles, sauces, variegates, and baked goods
  • Maintain production schedules and inventory
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures
  • Clean and maintain production equipment
  • Ensure every batch meets our quality standards before it reaches customers
Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in artisan ice cream, pastry, gelato, bakery, or commercial dessert production
  • Strong culinary fundamentals
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays when needed
