Job description

Opal Foods is seeking applications for a team and results oriented Supervisor - Egg Production at our Roggen, Colorado laying hen farm.

Role Description/Summary

The purpose of this role is to provide direct supervision of team members to ensure flocks are cared for, quality eggs are produced, and operational and quality goals are achieved. This position will also assist the Production Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This position reports directly to the site Production Manager.

Essential Job Functions โ€“ Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.

  1. Lead site production team members in obtaining operational goals
  2. Monitor and coach production team members in order to make them successful in assigned tasks
  3. Provide assignments and guidance to production maintenance team members
  4. Responsible for timecard review and team member performance management
  5. Ensure safety program initiatives for are followed by all team members
  6. Ensure bio-security program initiatives are followed by all team members
  7. Ensure regulatory compliance initiatives are followed by all team members
  8. Constantly look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goals
  9. Observe operations and make recommendations to the Production Manager based on observations and operational needs

Other Responsibilities

  1. Other duties and projects as needed to support operational objectives.

Required Qualifications โ€“ Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  1. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise team members including strong communication skills
  4. Must have mechanical understanding with ability to trouble shoot basic mechanics and ability to guide production maintenance technicians
  5. Must be a hands-on and interactive supervisor willing to teach/train team members

Preferred Qualifications โ€“ Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  1. Previous experience in egg production, live poultry, or related fields
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent highly preferred
  3. Bachelorโ€™s degree in agriculture, business, relevant course of studies preferred
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in Spanish preferred
