Opal Foods is seeking applications for a team and results oriented Supervisor - Egg Production at our Roggen, Colorado laying hen farm.Role Description/SummaryThe purpose of this role is to provide direct supervision of team members to ensure flocks are cared for, quality eggs are produced, and operational and quality goals are achieved. This position will also assist the Production Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This position reports directly to the site Production Manager. Essential Job Functions – Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.Lead site production team members in obtaining operational goalsMonitor and coach production team members in order to make them successful in assigned tasksProvide assignments and guidance to production maintenance team membersResponsible for timecard review and team member performance managementEnsure safety program initiatives for are followed by all team membersEnsure bio-security program initiatives are followed by all team membersEnsure regulatory compliance initiatives are followed by all team membersConstantly look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goalsObserve operations and make recommendations to the Production Manager based on observations and operational needsOther ResponsibilitiesOther duties and projects as needed to support operational objectives. Required Qualifications – Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookDemonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in EnglishDemonstrated ability to effectively supervise team members including strong communication skillsMust have mechanical understanding with ability to trouble shoot basic mechanics and ability to guide production maintenance techniciansMust be a hands-on and interactive supervisor willing to teach/train team members Preferred Qualifications – Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesPrevious experience in egg production, live poultry, or related fieldsHigh School Diploma or equivalent highly preferredBachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, relevant course of studies preferredDemonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in Spanish preferredAbout Opal Foods: Opal Foods was formed in 2014 and is a partnership between Rose Acre Farms and Weaver Brothers.
