Job description


The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient service. Service Technicians use digital inspection tools, communicate findings, and collaborate with service advisors and management to ensure vehicles are repaired right the first time and customers stay safe on the road.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive digital vehicle inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair:
    • Brake and steering systems
    • HVAC systems and engine cooling components
    • Engine performance and drivability issues
  • Complete routine maintenance services (coolant, brake, power steering, transmission flushes, etc.).
  • Conduct state inspections (emissions and safety).
  • Perform wheel alignments, tire rotations, and tire pressure checks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Document work performed accurately using shop management software.
  • Collaborate with service advisors and management to ensure workflow and communication.

Licenses & Certifications

  • State Vehicle Inspector License – required
  • Refrigerant Recovery Certification (ASE or MACA) – preferred
  • ASE Certifications – preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an automotive technician

Licensing:

  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency with scan tools and shop equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and use of hand and power tools
