Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Perform entry-level maintenance service tasks in support of DSU Aircraft Maintenance, distinct from general line operations. Responsibilities include assisting with inspections, completing approved light maintenance, and supporting aircraft return-to-service preparation under the supervision of certificated A&P technicians. Receive mentorship from DSU maintenance staff to accumulate practical experience toward an FAA A&P certificate.
Fueling, towing, and detailing aircraft. Conduct preventative maintenance on ground support equipment (fuel trucks, Lektros, tugs, carts) in accordance with internal checklists and manufacturer guidance. Support hangar organization, cleanliness, and upkeep in areas not covered by custodial staff, ensuring maintenance spaces remain compliant with safety and operational standards.
Qualifications
GED or High School education preferred.
Preference given to individual who has a documented mechanic background.
No Federal or alcohol/drug related convictions.
Must have reliable transportation.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.
