Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A fully qualified Combustion Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of combustion systems, including burners, boilers, furnaces, and other related equipment. The technician ensures the safe and efficient operation of combustion commercial systems in the field at customer sites, located in Apache Junction, Arizona.

We are hiring an experienced Combustion Service Technicians, looking for an opportunity to work with a well-established, well-respected, and growing company to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a positive relationship with customers as you professionally maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install commercial and industrial equipment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Set up combustion equipment and connect it to fuel sources and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on combustion systems.
  • Clean and replace components such as burners, nozzles, and filters.
  • Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose issues with combustion equipment, including mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Replace or repair faulty components and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify and mitigate hazards such as gas leaks or carbon monoxide emissions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Adjust controls and settings to optimize the efficiency and performance of combustion systems.
  • Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety inspections.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by management and regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as required.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training or certification in HVAC, mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in combustion systems or related fields.
  • Experience with different types of fuel (natural gas, oil, propane) is beneficial.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the installation and repair of combustion systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA, HVAC certification) are a plus.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to job sites.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Comfort with working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
