Job description

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our Vapour Group, supporting projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of vapour control and combustion technologies, including:

  • Flare Gas Recovery Units (FGRU)
  • Vapour Combustion Units (VCU)
  • Vapour Recovery Units (VRU)
  • Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO)
  • Catalytic Oxidizers (CATOX)
  • Thermal Oxidizers (TOX)

The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting and supporting customers on-site, while contributing to product improvements, lessons learned, and future project development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute service, maintenance, tuning, revamps and modifications on vapour equipment.
  • Lead and support site commissioning activities, including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation checks.
  • Carry out loop checks, wiring corrections, functional testing and cause & effect verification.
  • Produce clear and professional site reports and commissioning documentation.
  • Deliver operator training and technical support to end users.
  • Participate in hotline support and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support sales, tendering and project teams with technical expertise and equipment selection.
  • Attend supplier inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Manage site activities in line with quality, safety, schedule and scope requirements.
  • Supervise subcontractors where required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products, services and customer solutions.
  • Support and mentor colleagues across Zeeco's global offices.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in commissioning, servicing or maintaining industrial process equipment.
  • Strong understanding of valves, instrumentation, electrical systems and rotating equipment.
  • Combustion knowledge and ATEX awareness.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot control systems and PLC I/O signals.
  • Experience producing RAMS and working under Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to safely use tools and work in industrial environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, including occasional weekends away - extensive travel across EMEA required.

Desirable

  • Experience with VRU, VCU, FGRU, RTO, TOX or similar vapour recovery/abatement technologies.
  • Knowledge of adsorption processes, carbon systems, vacuum pumps and VOC handling.
  • Familiarity with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI systems.
  • Understanding of API, PED, IEC60079/ATEX and related industry standards.
  • VOC analyser calibration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Additional European language skills (German, Dutch or French preferred).
