Description

A Blake & Pendleton Service Technician Trainee provides maintenance/repair support for its customers. Blake & Pendleton customers operate in varied types of industries, such as manufacturing, utility, forestry, mining, etc. Blake & Pendleton primarily supports Sullair compressed air equipment but also provides support for many other equipment designs.


The position of Service Technician Trainee will train with an experienced Service Technician and will travel to customer field sites in the region to service equipment as determined by the Service Manager. Service Technicians Trainee will train on the necessary safety training and gain certifications as determined by industry agencies (for example OSHA, MHSA, etc.). Service Technician Trainees have a fixed schedule for work but also may be required to deviate from the schedule per the customer's request as well as required to work on a call using an assigned rotating schedule by the Service Manager. Service Technician Trainees are frequently required to lift over 50 lbs. and occasionally exceed 100 lbs., climb ladders, and carry buckets of lubricants weighing between 25 lbs. & 55 lbs., bend as well as work after hours and in inclement weather.


Service Technician Trainee responsibilities include but are not limited to (after training):

  • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance
  • Accurately assess trouble calls and repair machine(s)
  • Perform start-up on newly installed machine (s)
  • Check-in with the Service Coordinator daily
  • Submit completed timesheets and service tickets to the Service Coordinator daily
  • Attire worn is a clean company uniform daily as well as displaying a professional demeanor
  • Maintain clean service truck
  • Must maintain a level of physical fitness to safely do the job as well as operate a company service truck, etc.


Requirements

  • Must be mechanically adept and electrical knowledge in industrial sector
  • Must have some knowledge of, but will trained safely use, all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to drive a service van or pickup truck as required.
  • Must be able to follow directions and take notes
  • Provide on call response during assigned week
  • Must be able to work in a fast passed environment
  • Must be able to use hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and requires a considerable amount of walking and standing. I
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs. frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on call
