POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Associate Service Technician/Installer reports to the Service Supervisor
  • Located in Landover, MD
  • Full-Time
  • In Office

The Associate Service Technician/Installer is responsible for basic-level service, repair, and installation of foodservice equipment at a customer’s location. This opportunity offers an incentive plan, compensation paid from door to door and a tuition reimbursement program that can be used for certifications that may be needed to grow into a Service Technician and eventually a Senior Service Technician position. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with a willingness to learn, and a desire to develop a rewarding career in the food service and equipment industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technician Support:
    • Conduct installation, servicing, and repair of food service equipment
    • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues reported by clients.
    • Learn and apply technical knowledge to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Run mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and test tasks
    • Survey safety devices and equipment on a regular basis
    • Manage and retain proper equipment, parts inventory, and tools on service vehicle while keeping items in a safe condition for the respective level of service
    • Inspect food service equipment for the purpose of ensuring safety
    • Request equipment, parts, and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensure that necessary tools are available to complete the necessary repair/installation
    • Identify necessary repairs and provide ongoing preventative maintenance
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Provide clear and concise explanations of technical issues and solutions.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and resolutions applied.
    • Complete service reports and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Seek guidance from experienced technicians to enhance learning.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during service activities.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to use field automation systems, (Tablets, cell phone, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality service.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 0 – 1 years of experience in a service-related role, (Plumbing, Automotive, Electrical) or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • EPA certification or coursework in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Bend or twist body.
  • Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools. or controls.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Keep or regain their balance.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
