Job description

Salary: 24-26/hour

Server Monitoring and Patching Technician


Candidate MUST be local to the Portland/Vancouver metro area. This is NOT a 100% remote position and we are not going to consider applicants who do not currently live in the area.


HTG is looking for an experienced technician to provide after hours Server Monitoring services for one of our enterprise clients. This is a remote position working with the clients server team to initiate, monitor and trouble shoot server operations, and assist end users and resolve tickets as needed.


Duties include:


  1. Monitoring Servers, network equipment, and critical web applications with Solarwinds. Troubleshooting or routing issues as they arise.
  2. Monitor and Troubleshoot servers that fail to install patches, Work with internal teams to setup out-of-band patching to reinstall the patches again.
  3. Monitoring application scripting environment in Stonebranch. Resolving issues or routing as needed.
  4. Taking end user support calls and troubleshooting as needed.
  5. Facilitate communication between multiple teams when priority issues arise.
  6. Creating Active Directory groups, file shares, shared email addresses, or distribution lists.
  7. Adding or removing users from Active Directory groups, database membership, shared emails, or software roles.


Experience required:


  • 3-5 years in a technical support role
  • Experience with monitoring ticket systems and working with end users
  • Experience with working with a ticketing system in the last 5 years
  • Excellent customer service, written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with documenting processes and workflows


Work Schedule:

Remote work schedule, with the below shift each week:


Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

7PM - 7AM


Plenty of opportunity for extra hours and overtime
