Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a senior-level Workday Integration Developer specializing in the Payroll domain. The ideal candidate will design, build, test, deploy, and support data integrations connecting Workday to external payroll vendors and banking institutions. The role requires strong technical expertise in Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, XSLT, and XML, along with a functional understanding of payroll data logic. The position will work within an Agile/Scrum environment and requires onsite work in San Antonio, Texas.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end Workday integrations connecting Core HCM and Payroll to third-party providers.
• Build custom, high-complexity integrations using Workday Studio to support specific banking formats and integration requirements.
• Configure and maintain Core Connector: Payroll Interface (CCPI) and modern PECI frameworks.
• Utilize the Payroll Effective Change Engine to manage retroactive payroll adjustments.
• Develop EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builders) for high-volume inbound data loads, including external payroll results, tax documents, and general ledger journal entries.
• Develop complex XSLT code within Document Transformations (DT) to transform Workday XML into formats required by external vendors.
• Build advanced Workday Custom Reports and calculated fields to manipulate payroll, deduction, and tax data.
• Implement appropriate error handling and multi-API routing logic within Workday Studio integrations.
• Develop and maintain secure Integration Security Users (ISU/ISSG).
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver technical solutions based on sprint user stories.
• Collaborate with technical and functional teams through daily stand-ups and other Agile activities.
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of dedicated experience developing integrations specifically for Workday Payroll, Payroll Interface, or Global Payroll.
• Proficiency building custom Workday Studio integrations with advanced error handling and multi-API routing logic.
• Strong knowledge of Core Connector Payroll Interface (CCPI), PECI, and inbound/outbound EIB architectures.
• Strong experience with XSLT 2.0/3.0 and XML manipulation for vendor-specific schemas.
• Mastery of Workday Custom Reporting and Calculated Fields.
• Experience creating and managing secure Integration Security Users (ISU/ISSG).
• Experience developing and delivering technical assets within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll data, deductions, tax information, and payroll integration requirements.
