What is a senior trainer?

Senior Trainers are experienced professionals responsible for designing, delivering, and managing training programs within an organization. They mentor junior trainers, develop training materials, and ensure that employees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles. Senior Trainers often assess training needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and collaborate with management to support organizational goals. Their expertise helps drive employee development and enhance overall performance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a senior trainer?

To thrive as a Senior Trainer, you need expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and subject matter knowledge, often supported by a bachelor's degree and relevant certifications. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), virtual training platforms, and presentation tools is typically required. Outstanding communication, leadership, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for engaging learners and managing diverse groups. Multi-functional work and proactive communication across internal teams will help you drive the end-to-end customer experience. If you are passionate about educating others on ground-breaking technology, contributing to the national security mission, interacting alongside professionals that span a wide-range of disciplines, and providing best-in-class training support, Anduril is interested in speaking with you.
We are a fast-growing company at the early stages of our growth, and you will be expected to immediately develop and own material and projects that will have a significant impact on the trajectory of our business lines and products. Anduril fosters a diverse, collaborative, culture with plenty of opportunities for ownership and professional growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage Anduril's training team and orchestrate delivery of training on Anduril products
    • Build repeatable systems and processes to partner with product teams and build training curriculum
    • Manage a team of trainers who lead classroom presentations and hands-on instruction at customer locations and Anduril test sites. Your team educates end users from military, government agency, and commercial backgrounds on the full breadth of Anduril's hardware and software offerings
  • Create, shape, and manage training collateral for our product capabilities and technology
    • Design training curriculums across a variety of platforms, including presentations, hands-on practicals, computer-based training, and simulations
    • Ensure instruction and training collateral remain current and updated for new features and functionality
  • Collaborate across nearly every Anduril team
    • Work across a wide range of Anduril teams, including product development, engineering, design, and operations to capture product updates and support training of end users
  • Serve as the voice of our customers
    • Build a bridge between our end users and Anduril, capturing feedback, identifying pain points, and informing the development of new product features
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of work experience related to building, delivering and overseeing training for complex products.
  • Training and training management background with expertise in planning, developing, and delivering training.
  • This position is based in Costa Mesa, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, to include travel to Hazard Zones.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience managing training POIs and major training events for military or Special Operations Forces.
  • Experience explaining technical terminology and solutions to a non-technical audience is a plus.
  • Ownership mentality, with strong initiative in managing your own work, and possibly that of others. You should have a natural bias to assume responsibility.
