Job description

Client Overview
We are partnering with a fast-paced, sharp cybersecurity firm backed by strong growth that is currently preparing for an upcoming acquisition. They are looking to add a Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$70/hr - $85/hr
Position Overview
Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant for a 6+ month engagement, with the potential to extend to 12 months or convert to a full-time position. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this role is 70% to 80% operational and transactional. The Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant will own core accounting processes, billing operations, and audit preparation under tight deadlines. This position requires handling high volume, managing heavy ad hoc requests, and ramping up quickly.
Responsibilities Of The Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant
  • Manage day-to-day revenue and billing operations within Maxio, including sales orders, invoices, and purchase order verification.
  • Execute monthly close activities, roll forward financials, perform complex reconciliations, and identify period-end variances related to revenue, debt, and equity.
  • Utilize FloQast checklists to drive 90% of daily workflows while handling ad hoc customer inquiries.
  • Own audit preparation and compliance support, applying investigative and testing skills to evolving customer revenue streams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams while driving process and system improvement initiatives.
  • Remain available on the last business day of each month to support West Coast teams.
Required Experience/Skills For The Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant
  • 5 - 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Industry experience within Technology, Start-Up, SaaS, Cybersecurity, or Private Equity-backed/Investment Banking environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606, SaaS revenue recognition, and gross versus net principal considerations.
  • Proven experience supporting a fast close process, with a 5-day close preferred.
  • Deep technical proficiency in NetSuite, Maxio, FloQast, and Salesforce.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and SUMIFS.
  • Positive attitude, high adaptability, and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage heavy workloads and tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Senior SaaS Accounting Consultant
  • Public accounting or audit background with investigative and discovery experience.
  • CPA designation.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
