Job Type: Seasonal (Oct. 1 - May 1), 4 day - 10 hour shifts

Position Overview

The Bikeshare Tech is essential to maintaining the functionality and safety of the WE-cycle system.This role performs routine bike and station maintenance, supports bike redistribution across the system, and maintains operational standards for bikes, stations, and equipment.


Progression

WE-cycle supports skill development through defined progression levels. As an employee builds technical skills, demonstrates proficiency, and takes on additional responsibilities, they will have opportunities to advance within the role and earn increased pay.


Core Responsibilities

  • Perform bike maintenance and repairs to keep the fleet safe, functional, and rider-ready.
  • Maintain system reliability by diagnosing and resolving bike and station issues.
  • Relocate WE-cycle bikes using company vehicles or e-bikes to maintain station availability.
  • Maintain station cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Provide rider assistance as needed.
  • Support daily field operations through assigned tasks.


Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform bike repairs.
  • Ability to learn new tools, systems, and repair techniques.
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to complete assigned work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.


Work Environment

  • Hands-on, field-based work requiring mobility and physical activity.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move bikes weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ride an e-bike for extended periods (up to 15 miles per shift).
  • Perform bike maintenance year-round, more concentrated during winter months.
