Job Description
We are seeking reliable independent contract drivers to handle daily routed deliveries for Josey's Baker wholesale products. Each route involves picking up fresh bread and pastries from Josey's Baker production facility in San Francisco's Mission District, then delivering to multiple assigned stores and clients within San Francisco city limits. Routes are pre-planned for efficiency, and you'll use your own reliable personal vehicle (sedan or SUV). This is a flexible opportunity perfect for those seeking supplemental income with short, predictable shifts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Arrive at Josey's Baker facility for scheduled early morning pickup
  • Safely load your vehicle with fresh wholesale bakery products
  • Follow pre-planned route to deliver orders to multiple stores, cafes, restaurants, and other clients within San Francisco
  • Verify orders, obtain signatures or proof of delivery, and handle basic receipts
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service during drop-offs
  • Unload and organize products at each stop (lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly)
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs via app or provided tools and report any issues
  • Keep your vehicle clean, organized, and suitable for food transport
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and food safety standards

- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record (DMV check required)
- At least 1 year of professional driving/delivery experience (food or routed delivery experience a plus)
- Reliable personal vehicle (sedan or SUV) with sufficient cargo space for bakery racks/boxes and a clean interior suitable for food transport
- Proof of current auto insurance (with commercial or rideshare/delivery coverage preferred) and vehicle registration
- Smartphone with data plan for route navigation and delivery tracking
- Comfortable navigating San Francisco traffic and tight spaces
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced, physical environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to assigned routes
