Remote Position with Heavy Travel During the Week

Job Summary


Reiser & Company is an international supplier of food processing and food packaging equipment. For over 60 years, Reiser has been an established supplier of production equipment in the bakery industry, delivering new and innovative solutions for the industry. Our ongoing growth in the bakery industry has created an opening for a Bakery Specialist. Our mission is to sell commercial baking equipment by providing our customers with truly superior service. In order to do this successfully, we seek very talented individuals who are motivated to satisfy our customers' needs. This position will work closely with our customers to ensure that our equipment is properly installed and working correctly. Additional responsibilities include manipulating customer recipes, formulating and reformulating dough, identifying potential new customers and support the sales team as a Bakery Expert at key customer meetings.

Essential Functions


· Travel 60-80% (overnight) each week to small, medium and large scale bakery plants and headquarters of baking companies in the Central United States.

· Work with existing and future customers on product development/R+D of bakery applications and products.

· Coordinate with Bakery Technicians to successfully install machinery and gain feedback to assist in further machine development opportunities.

· Travel with sales staff, and support sales staff at client meetings. Identify sales opportunities and help close sales, working with Reiser specialists and regional sales people.

· Support the sales efforts at designated National Accounts as identified by the Director of National Bakery Accounts.


Key Qualifications


· Recent prior experience working as a baker or research and development of bakery products, preferably in large scale commercial/industrial settings

· Prior experience as a scratch baker. Must know how to formulate and reformulate dough.

· Understanding of bakery manufacturing and a passion for the industry.

· Ability to learn and understand the machinery used in the bakery is necessary.

· Excellent networking skills and the ability to be comfortable in plants and headquarters as needed to develop key relationships.

· Be a sales-oriented self-starter, who understands the entire sales process and can actively participate in identifying the needs of our customers and the solutions to meet those needs.

· Converse comfortably and effectively with people working on the shop floor to presidents of companies.

· Clear communication skills with sales team and home office, both written and verbal.

· Based in a major US City in the Central USA (Kansas City, St Louis, Indianapolis or equivalent).

· Bakery knowledge and an understanding of high production bakeries.

· Ability to travel 60-80-%overnight during the week (Monday to Friday) throughout the Central United States.

· Outgoing personality and a willingness to support Reiser Sales Team

· Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and multi-task.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all organizational levels is critical.

· Previous sales experience would be an asset.

· Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

· Basic computer skills a must.

· Bachelors Degree or Post Secondary School education relating to Bakery Science or Pastry Arts or American Institute of Baking Certification or equivalent highly desirable.
