POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of Project Controls Department, this position will assist Project Management teams with the following:
  • Creating and Integrating

Position is responsible for assembling and analyzing defined and undefined project information, and preparing understandable documents, which serve as tools to help coordinate/manage project tasks and resources at individual project and division levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain all required project schedules, utilizing scheduling software required, including MS Project and Primavera P6.
  • Create and maintain project cost information, utilizing Enterprise Resource Programs, such as IFS.
  • Simplify and format schedules to improve readability for inexperienced laborers, craftsmen, and/or supervisors.
  • Assist the PMT with project estimates, proposals, contracts, specifications, drawings and other basic source data to develop a realistic and rational project execution strategy recommendation to the Project Management Team.
  • Assist project team members and subcontractors in PERT and LEAN planning process to develop and integrate schedule.
  • Gather and integrate all data between Project support functions such as QA, Procurement, WAFs, and ITC.
  • Gather and integrate all data from subcontractors and customer.
  • Study production sequence and logic ties, and optimize schedule.
  • Participate with production management team to develop budgets, and resource-and-cost-load schedule activities.
  • Solicit and input weekly progress updates.
  • Produce weekly schedule reports in support of customer invoicing.
  • Incorporate scope changes and other changes to project schedules, analyze and report time impact.
  • Works with internal and external resources to resolve conflicts, problems, and coordinate schedules.
  • Produce weekly projections, graphs, and reports per customer requirements.
  • Produce weekly projections, graphs, and reports per internal requirements.
  • Perform weekly EVMS analyses per internal requirements.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
The individual works and interacts with many levels within Vigor. Works closely with other schedulers, subcontractors, and the customer to integrate schedules.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in engineering, project management, or business accounting is required. AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
PMP preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. 80% normal office environment; 20% of time spent in production areas in yard and aboard ships. The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard ships. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
