Job description

At Globe Life, we are committed to empowering our employees with the support and opportunities they need to succeed at every stage of their career. We take pride in fostering a caring and innovative culture that enables us to collectively grow and overcome challenges in a connected, collaborative, and mutually respectful environment that calls us to help Make Tomorrow Better.
Role Overview:
Could you be our next Sr. Salesforce Developer? Globe Life is looking for a Sr. Salesforce Developer to join the team!
This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex Salesforce solutions and integrations with minimal supervision, requiring deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP APIs, and enterprise architecture to drive platform improvements that support business scalability, while collaborating with senior stakeholders, mentoring team members within the Salesforce CoE, and ensuring all solutions meet standards for reliability, security, and auditability.
This is a remote/work-from-home position.
What You Will Do:
  • Develop and maintain customized Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Lightning Design System, and related technologies, independently setting best practices for integration, application development, deployment, and testing with work reviewed only at critical points.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex integration components connecting Salesforce with third-party applications and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP web services, APIs, batch processes, middleware, and connectors, devising solutions based on limited information and precedent.
  • Define, communicate, and manage a change management process for developing and implementing new applications and code, as well as updates to existing applications, using evaluation and judgment to select the right course of action.
  • Drive and ensure the qualities of a well-designed system for correctness, reliability, auditability, scalability, redundancy, and security, resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggesting variations in approach.
  • Provide technical guidance and serve as a mentor to the Salesforce team in coordination with the entire Salesforce CoE, including conducting code reviews and requirements analysis, often advising others on difficult technical matters.
  • Seek out ways to leverage Salesforce to improve processes and productivity, making recommendations to support an organization scaling at a rapid pace, and interpreting and implementing roadmap plans and enterprise-level architecture.
  • Enhance relationships and collaborate with senior internal and external partners who may not be familiar with the subject matter, adapting communication style to differing audiences to build alignment and drive outcomes.
  • Document standard operating procedures and maintain technical documentation to support operational continuity and knowledge transfer.
  • Demo product functionality to stakeholders and business teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Salesforce Manager.

What You Can Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I, Certified Salesforce Administrator, or Certified JavaScript Developer (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience.
  • 4+ years of Salesforce development experience, including SOQL/SOSL, jQuery, Apex, and Visualforce.
  • Complete knowledge of Salesforce development practices, platform architecture, and the SDLC, including structured methodologies and tools (Salesforce DX preferred).
  • Experience writing Apex classes and triggers, with proficiency in HTML, XML, JavaScript, SQL/SOQL, and Java/C++/OOP.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and integrating Salesforce with third-party applications using tools such as Informatica and similar middleware platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of security concepts (authentication, SSL, SSO) and integration patterns (SOAP/REST, APIs, batch processes, connectors, and middleware).
  • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems, GitHub, and command line Git.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Lightning Design System and SFDX.
  • Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, solution design, and deployment; with the ability to interpret and implement roadmap plans and enterprise-level architecture independently.
  • Sophisticated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess unusual circumstances and devise creative solutions with limited information and precedent.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both business and technical audiences and adapt style to differing audiences.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities independently.

Applicable To All Employees of Globe Life Family of Companies:
  • Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift.
  • Ability to work full time and/or part time based on the position specifications.
