Position Overview
Support the Department of Transportation (DOT) ACERS (Aviation Consumer Enforcement and Reporting System) Salesforce modernization program by designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise Salesforce Service Cloud solutions. The Senior Salesforce Developer will be responsible for developing scalable Salesforce applications using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce best practices while participating in Agile delivery, Git-based source control, deployment management, and production support. This role will collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to deliver secure, high-quality solutions in a federal environment.
Core Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce applications using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex, Apex Triggers, SOQL/SOSL, Visualforce, and Flows.
  • Develop scalable, reusable, and maintainable Salesforce components following Salesforce best practices.
  • Participate in technical design sessions and provide technical recommendations for new features and enhancements.
  • Develop and support integrations with external applications using REST/SOAP APIs and Salesforce Platform Events.
  • Configure and support DocuSign integrations within Salesforce.
  • Manage source code using Git, including branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution, and code reviews.
  • Participate in deployment planning, release management, and CI/CD activities across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues while supporting scheduled production releases.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to refine user stories and estimate development effort.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Ensure high-quality code through peer reviews, unit testing (minimum 85% code coverage), and adherence to Salesforce development standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the development team.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of software development experience, including 5+ years of Salesforce development experience.
