Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to develop competitive quotes that accurately reflect cost, lead time, and manufacturability for metal stamping, tooling, and related processes.

  • Engage directly with customers to understand requirements, present engineered solutions, address technical questions, and build long-term relationships.
  • Establish and standardize processes for RFQ handling, design-for-manufacturing reviews, and change management to reduce cycle time and improve quote win rates.
  • Work with product engineering and manufacturing to drive continuous improvement in stamping processes, tooling design, and production efficiency to lower costs and improve quality.
  • Analyze win/loss data and customer feedback to refine pricing strategies, proposal content, and technical differentiators.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during new product introductions (NPIs) to ensure seamless transfer from quotation through production ramp-up.
  • Develop training programs and hiring plans to grow the teams technical and commercial capabilities.
  • Represent the company in technical meetings, trade shows, and customer workshops to promote capabilities and capture new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical sales within metalworking, stamping, or tooling industries, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience preparing and reviewing cost estimates, quotes, and proposals for stamped metal parts and tooling.
  • Strong technical knowledge of metal stamping processes, tooling design, materials, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customers to translate requirements into engineered solutions and negotiate technical and commercial terms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience implementing processes for RFQ management, DFM reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to shorten quote cycles and improve margins.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and cost-modeling spreadsheets; familiarity with ERP/CRM systems used in quoting and order management.
  • Results-oriented, customer-focused, with strong leadership and team development capabilities.
