Job description

Position Description:
The Engineering Manager leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of Towmaster products. This role oversees engineering staff, ensures product quality and compliance, and drives innovation to support customer needs and operational efficiency. The Engineering Manager works cross-functionally with production, sales, and service teams to deliver durable, cost-effective products.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers and engineers.
  • Create department goals that align and support with company initiatives.
  • Approve all drawings, ensuring they meet structural integrity, durability, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with value stream to resolve design-related production issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement designed to improve costing and efficiency.
  • Ensure products meet regulatory standards.
  • Oversee department quality assurance, maintaining revision and documentation processes.
  • Lead Engineering research and development projects from concept to product launch.
  • Oversee coordination with vendors and suppliers on materials and supplies.
  • Support sales team with technical expertise, assisting in field resolution and engaging with customers as needed to determine product requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
  • 5–10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing
  • 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in trailer, heavy equipment, or truck body manufacturing strongly preferred
