Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Project Engineering teams and drive the successful development of advanced power systems and technologies. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring engineering excellence, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering programs that meet customer, quality, cost, and timing objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in power-related products and systems, including but not limited to high-voltage electric vehicle applications, low-voltage electrical systems, and other power management solutions manufactured by Methode. A strong understanding of the integration between product design, engineering development, and manufacturing processes is essential to ensure scalable, high-quality product launches. The successful candidate will bring a balanced combination of mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge, proven leadership experience, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

This position will lead engineering team members across multiple global regions and will be responsible for overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, launch, and ongoing support. The Senior Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain, as well as with customers, to deliver solutions that meet evolving market and application requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish team objectives and performance expectations aligned with organizational goals, product strategies, and business priorities.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the design, development, integration, and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Ensure products and systems comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, safety guidelines, and customer specifications.
  • Review, approve, and maintain engineering deliverables, including requirements, schematics, technical documentation, and validation plans.

Program & Project Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple engineering programs, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Partner closely with Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and launch execution.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and production facilities as needed to address product and process challenges.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive resolution of technical and operational issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation

  • Support customer interactions, technical reviews, design discussions, and proposal development activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business requirements.
  • Champion innovation initiatives and contribute to technology roadmaps that support long-term strategic objectives and market competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering discipline or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering solutions.
  • 5+ years of leadership or people management experience, including team development and performance management.
  • Deep understanding of Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) architectures, components, and applicable safety and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, UL, IEC).
  • Strong project management capabilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Experience managing and collaborating with global teams across multiple regions and cultures.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a focus on advancing technology and engineering excellence.
