Job description

Spreetailpropels brands to increase their ecommerce market share across the globe while improving their operational costs. Learn how we are building one of the fastest-growing ecommerce companies in history: www.spreetail.com.

The Safety team exists to protect Spreetail's most important asset - our people. The Safety Manager drives a proactive safety culture by owning both the strategic oversight and the hands-on, day-to-day execution of safety programs across the fulfillment center. This role doesn't just manage from a desk - it is a floor-level presence that conducts walk-throughs, leads incident investigations, delivers training, and ensures compliance is lived, not just documented. In the absence of dedicated Safety Supervisors, the Safety Manager personally carries out the full breadth of responsibilities required to keep every associate safe and every program audit-ready.
How you will achieve success:
  • Ownership of key ORIR & LTI rates, currently trending at or below industry benchmarks for warehouse and e-fulfillment operations - and you own the data, support an integrated Operations team in determining the root cause, and drive the corrective and preventative actions to completion.
  • Every OSHA recordable is documented accurately, investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions are closed on time - with integrated Operations support and engagement.
  • Support P&C in ensuring new hire and PIT safety training completion is at or above 95% for all associates and departments at all times - ensure onboarding safety training is completed before a new hire's first shift on the floor.
  • Monthly safety audits are conducted, scored, and open items are tracked to closure - audit results are consistently improving quarter-over-quarter.
  • Emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources are current, posted, and practiced regularly across all shifts.
  • Workers' compensation claims are actively managed - modified duty programs are utilized, claims are reported on time, and costs are trending down.
What experiences will help you in this role:
  • 3+ years of safety or EHS experience, ideally in a production, warehouse, distribution center, or e-fulfillment environment.
  • Formal or extensive regulatory experience and exposure. Responsibility for 300 logs, complaints, and onsite support.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night or weekend shifts.
  • Direct, hands-on experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Proven ability to own and execute integrated safety programs independently - this role does not have Safety Supervisor support and requires someone who can carry the management, influence/cooperations, and the execution.
  • Comfortable as a floor-level presence: a significant portion of each shift is spent on the warehouse floor, not behind a desk.
In an effort to Make Spreetail Better, we hire people that are aligned with our values and are passionate about pursuing ecommerce excellence. We believe the right person can learn what is needed to succeed in their role, so we encourage job applicants to apply even if you don't meet all the qualifications listed. We are looking for diverse backgrounds and perspectives, so we don't require college degrees and welcome non-linear career paths. If this role highlights your experience and gets you excited - please apply!

We provide the flexibility to take care of yourself. Spreetail operates in a work culture that promotes results and encourages taking time off when needed.
