Job description

Join Our Team at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant! We're currently seeking a dedicated Part Time Safety Associate to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be, 12:00am-8:00am, every other weekend.
The Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant, Safety Associates are part of our Facilities team, that delivers a unique approach to quality care and support as "First Responders" to our senior residents. The open shifts include:

What You'll do as an LVMG Safety Associate:
  • Complete building rounds inside and outside at assigned times
  • Check and operate vehicles safely and according to vehicle safety recommendations. Report any concerns to the Assistant Director of Facilities and in your safety shift report.
  • Respond to emergencies, e.g., fire, emergency response system and assist nursing personnel as directed.
  • Ensure emergency call system, Pal Care is functioning throughout the shift and respond to all emergency notifications (e.g. pull cord, pendant). Perform and triage emergency response until medical team arrives, e.g., call 911 and nurse on duty as needed.
  • Operate necessary safety and rescue devices in the case of an emergency (Raizer Lift, AED, etc).
  • Follow emergency call notification lists; help direct emergency vehicles if necessary.
  • Document and check mechanical equipment operation, gauges, and controls
  • Check for any unsafe conditions and repair or report to Facilities Management.
  • Check all equipment to make sure it is properly turned off.
  • During snowstorms, help keep ice and snow away from emergency exits.
  • Respond to resident's or staff's maintenance concerns, assess the matter, try to resolve, or communicate with the proper department to resolve the issue. Enter in needed work orders from residents, team members and from the shift.
  • Replace batteries in smoke detectors as needed for staff and residents.
  • Assist in conducting monthly fire drills
  • At times, transport staff and /or residents to various locations within the campus.
  • Maintain and monitor video surveillance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Hourly Wage will be based on candidate qualifications including relevant years of experience and certifications/education

What You Will Need as an LVMG Safey Associate:
  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • 1 Year Safety experience in a CCRC environment preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional and Friendly demeanor
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team Player
  • Valid CPR Certification a plus, but willing to provide training to certify
