A Contract Safety job involves overseeing workplace safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on a contractual basis. Professionals in this role assess risks, develop safety protocols, conduct inspections, and provide training to employees. They may work across various industries, including construction, manufacturing, and logistics, to minimize accidents and ensure regulatory compliance. These roles can be short-term or long-term, depending on the needs of the company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Contract Safety position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Safety professional, you need a strong foundation in occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring, ideally supported by certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or CSP. Familiarity with incident reporting software, safety management systems, and audit tools is commonly required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential soft skills for success in this field. These skills are crucial to proactively identify hazards, enforce safety standards, and create safe working environments for all contract projects.

What are some typical challenges faced by Contract Safety professionals, and how do they address them?

Contract Safety professionals often encounter challenges such as ensuring compliance with complex and changing safety regulations across multiple worksites, managing safety training for diverse teams, and effectively communicating risks to both management and contract workers. They address these by staying up to date with the latest industry regulations, using safety management systems to track compliance, and developing clear safety protocols for all projects. Building strong relationships with contractors and providing ongoing education helps foster a culture of safety. Adaptability and proactive risk assessment are key to navigating unexpected hazards or incidents. These efforts ensure that projects remain compliant, efficient, and safe for everyone involved.

Description:

Safety Consultant (Contract | Approx. 4 Months)

Colorado Safety Supply Staffing & Consulting is partnering with a client to find a Safety Consultant for an exciting 4-month contract opportunity on a project in its final stage of completion.

This is a great fit for an entry-level safety professional who is ready to step in, make an impact, and help keep safety front and center through the finish line. Weโ€™re looking for someone who doesnโ€™t just know safety โ€” we want someone who believes in it, champions it, and can positively influence others in the field every day.

If youโ€™re passionate about protecting people, confident in the field, and able to encourage safe behavior in a fast-paced construction environment, this could be a strong opportunity for you.

What youโ€™ll be doing

  • Supporting jobsite safety efforts during the final completion phase of the project
  • Promoting and reinforcing a strong safety culture in the field
  • Engaging with crews and helping encourage safe work practices daily
  • Bringing a hands-on, visible safety presence to the site
  • Assisting with scaffold-related safety oversight and field support

What weโ€™re looking for

  • Scaffold experience, including installation
  • A valid OSHA 30 in Construction (1926)
  • A true passion for safety and the ability to influence others positively
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working in an FR setting
  • Someone who is motivated, proactive, and ready to contribute right away

Preferred background

  • Some college or trade school (higher education) in safety or a related field
  • Entry-level safety experience with a strong desire to grow in the profession

Why this role stands out
This is more than a short-term contract โ€” itโ€™s a chance to gain valuable field experience, build your safety career, and be part of a project at a critical stage where your presence really matters. If youโ€™re eager to grow, ready to be in the field, and excited to help create a safer workplace, weโ€™d love to hear from you.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience.

  • Willing to work 6 days per week, 10-hour days (OT paid at 1.5x)
  • Willing to transition to 12-hour days toward the end of the project
  • This project should last approximately 4 full months starting in a couple weeks
