What are contract fashion jobs?

Contract fashion jobs are temporary positions within the fashion industry where professionals are hired for a set period or specific project rather than as permanent employees. These roles can include designers, stylists, pattern makers, merchandisers, and other fashion-related specialists who work on freelance or contractual terms. Contract fashion jobs offer flexibility for both employers and workers, allowing companies to bring in specialized talent as needed and giving professionals the freedom to work with multiple brands or projects. This type of employment is common during busy production seasons, large fashion events, or when launching new collections.

  • Translate design concepts into production-ready digital artwork and technical specifications.
  • Develop garment mock-ups, colorways, print layouts, and presentation materials.
  • Revise artwork based on creative feedback while meeting project deadlines.
  • Maintain consistency with brand standards across multiple brands and product categories.
  • Utilize AI-assisted creative tools, where appropriate, to support ideation, visualization, and workflow efficiency while ensuring all final work reflects Dana-co's quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing intimate apparel, lingerie, sleepwear, loungewear, or women's apparel.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with InDesign is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative platforms (such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Midjourney, or similar tools) as part of a modern design workflow.
  • Strong technical illustration and garment rendering skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret creative direction.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Teams and other collaborative tools.
  • Experience supporting apparel product development from concept through production is a plus.

Why Join Dana-co?

  • Opportunity to work with an established leader in intimate apparel.
  • Collaborate with a talented and experienced design team.
  • Contribute to multiple brands and product categories.
  • Potential to transition into a permanent role based on business needs and performance.
