Job description

Amentum is seeking Electronics Technician Maintenance for MARMC Code 287 to provide technical services forship and land-based site installations. The candidate will operate, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, test, onboard maintenance training, assessment, inspection, grooming, and calibration of Navy surface combatant ship MK 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT) and interfaces.

Job responsibilities:

  • Review, assess, maintain, and provide recommendations for revision and/or updates of system technical documentation.

  • Provide scheduling, coordination, and documentation for the MARMC technical assistance and assessment support process.

  • Write technical, assessment, and inspection reports, Technical Assistance Visit Reports (TAVRs), debriefs Material Assessment Forms (MAF), and trip reports.

  • Conduct oral debriefings to management and technical personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • A minimum of six (6) years of full-time hands-on technician-level experience within the last 10 years in installation, testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair of MK 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT) systems and equipment

  • A minimum of three (3) years of full-time engineering experience within the last 5 years in Navy surface ship combat and/or electronic systems in a hands-on or supervisory capacity over technicians operating and maintaining systems

  • Must be capable of using and reading technical operation and maintenance documentation and manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and data tables

  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of technical publications related to Navy surface ship combat and/or electronic systems

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral expression

  • Must know the theory of electrical and electronic principles

  • The position requires the ability to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair industrial facilities

  • The position may require travel

  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed U.S. Navy MK 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT), a school or U.S. Navy MK 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube (SVTT) Operator and Maintenance course

  • Experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, assessments, and inspections, on MK 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT) including, but not limited to:

  • Familiarity with QA process/procedures about SVTT RAC

  • General experience with mechanical and industrial repair methodologies

  • Interpreting Engineering Drawings and ability to determine parts, material, and machine tooling required to perform work based on the drawings. Also, be able to create a flow diagram/drawing based on the situation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Auto-Cad, and Visio

  • Proficient with the NAVY Supply Product Quality Deficiency Reporting (PQDR) system

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details:

$33-$38/hour
