Job description

RN – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule

36-hour or 48-hour shifts; weekend requirement of at least 6 weekend shifts every 6-week period; must be able to work 3 of 5 major holidays.

Assignment Details

Contract lengths are based on specific start dates of 10/12 or 10/26; no RTO within the first 2 weeks of assignment; maximum RTO of 2 weeks total for assignment.

Requirements

  • Active California RN license required at time of submission (no pending/temp).
  • 2 years of RN experience required; experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry needed.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Experience in a large facility (approximately 400+ beds) preferred for first-time travelers.
  • Telemetry skills required, including dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
  • Manage IV, PICC, and central line care, along with post-operative cardiac and cath care.
  • Conduct airway/oxygen management and demonstrate familiarity with ventilators and tracheostomies.
  • Administer blood products and provide routine wound care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccination is required, and no exemptions are allowed; an EKG exam will be administered on the first day of orientation and must be passed to continue on the contract.
