Position Summary

The Warehouse Returns (RMA) Associate I supports the processing of returned merchandise by performing basic handling, sorting, and data entry tasks. This role generally works under the training and guidance of the RMA Specialist and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure returned items are received, organized, and routed accurately within the warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload returned shipments from carriers or internal transfers
  • Sort returned items by SKU, condition, or disposition category
  • Perform basic visual inspections for obvious damage or discrepancies
  • Assist with scanning and data entry into the warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Label, tag, and stage items for further processing (restock, quarantine, etc.)
  • Maintain organization of returns area, including bins, shelves, and pallets
  • Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the RMA Specialist or Lead
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment (5S standards)
  • Support inventory counts and basic reconciliation tasks as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support other warehouse team members with daily tasks as needed.
  • Participate in inventory counts and assist with stock organization.
  • Serves as backup in areas of picking/packing/loading & unloading containers as directed by the warehouse supervisor
  • Continuously learn and follow company procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years of warehouse and Return Merchandizing Authorization experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Comfortable using handheld scanners or willing to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or retail stockroom
  • Familiarity with RF scanners or warehouse systems
  • Basic computer/data entry skills
