What You'll Do as a Driver Recruiter & Retention Manager:Driver Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified professional drivers.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, industry networks, workforce partnerships, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified drivers to support current and future staffing needs.
  • Represent the company at job fairs, recruiting events, CDL schools, workforce development programs, and community events.
  • Promote the company's culture, driver benefits, earning opportunities, and career growth potential.
  • Partner with operations leaders to understand driver staffing needs and develop effective recruitment plans.
  • Develop relationships with local driving schools, training programs, and workforce agencies to create ongoing candidate pipelines.
Driver Onboarding & Candidate Experience
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for driver candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure a positive, professional, and engaging candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, background checks, drug screenings, license verification, and onboarding documentation.
  • Partner with operations and training teams to ensure a smooth transition for newly hired drivers.
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding activities as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates and newly hired drivers throughout the onboarding process.
Driver Engagement & Retention
  • Lead driver retention initiatives focused on increasing satisfaction, engagement, and long-term employment.
  • Conduct follow-up check-ins with newly hired drivers during their onboarding and introductory employment periods.
  • Build strong relationships with drivers to identify concerns, resolve challenges, and enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Gather driver feedback and recommend improvements to recruitment, onboarding, and retention programs.
  • Support driver recognition programs and initiatives that celebrate safety, service, performance, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with leadership to promote a positive, inclusive, and driver-focused workplace culture.
  • Develop and support retention strategies designed to reduce turnover and improve workforce stability.
Workforce Planning & Recruitment Analytics
  • Monitor driver staffing levels, recruitment trends, labor market conditions, and workforce forecasts.
  • Track recruitment metrics, hiring activity, retention data, and workforce planning efforts.
  • Prepare recruiting and retention reports and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance hiring efficiency, candidate quality, and retention outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking and recruitment records.
  • Collaborate with management on long-term workforce planning strategies.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner closely with operations leaders, dispatch teams, training staff, and executive leadership to meet hiring and retention goals.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, workforce agencies, driving schools, colleges, and educational institutions.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Contribute best practices that strengthen driver recruitment, engagement, and retention outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted recruitment and retention resource for managers and leadership teams.
  • Assist in developing recruiting processes, training initiatives, and talent programs that support organizational growth.
Qualifications for a Driver Recruiter & Retention Manager:
  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, transportation, driver staffing, human resources, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience recruiting CDL or non-CDL drivers is highly desirable.
