A retail operations specialist monitors cash flow activity, supplies, and other daily activities in a retail environment. As a retail operations specialist, your responsibilities may include keeping inventory and restocking when necessary, tallying up total cash intake from registers at the end of the day, and training new employees on operational procedures. This position is most commonly found in retail stores, but banks and other organizations with retail transactions also have retail operations specialists on staff. There are no formal education requirements to become a retail operations specialist, but most employers prefer candidates with retail or other industry experience.
