Job Description

The client is seeking to engage an experienced Business Analyst in working on a large ERP and Web project. This position will require retail business and SDLC acumen for a Microsoft Dynamics AX and Web application project being implemented using Agile.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with business and IT Subject Matter Experts to gather, understand and document business and technical requirements
  • Understand the needs of multiple stakeholders and facilitate the negotiation of requirements
  • Identify current and future-state business processes, including a gap analysis
  • Help stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support it
  • Determine from business representatives the relative priority of requirements
  • Create business requirement documents and enter agile stories in JIRA, including functional and system requirements.
  • Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications according to Client's business analysis standards.
  • Facilitate design sessions with the implementation team to define the best solution.
  • Assist with the resolution of functional questions and other impediments to progress
  • Provide input as to whether implementations have met requirements and are acceptable for release.


The successful candidate must:

  • Communicate effectively to all levels of IT and business organizations
  • Possess strong writing, verbal, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Have the ability to see the overall business process at any point in time
  • Understand and be able to apply Agile and/or Scrum methodology
  • Be organized and detail oriented
  • Have an aptitude to learn about business functionality being delivered


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with ERP and Web application projects
  • Retail industry experience
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Systems or related field required
  • 3+ years' experience working as a business analyst in multi-faceted, medium to large scale, technical and business-focused projects
  • Must understand Agile project management methodology and be able to apply it in projects
