Job description

The Resource Development Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the ministry's fundraising, donor relations, public relations, events, marketing, and community engagement efforts. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills, sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to confidentiality. The ideal candidate is an organized, professional, and personable individual who enjoys working with people and can effectively manage multiple responsibilities and projects. The position also requires someone who embraces the mission, values, and philosophy of Holston Home for Children and understands the importance of integrity in fundraising.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with donors regarding their giving, including gift entry and acknowledgements.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and files and work with the Accounting Office to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising and public relations events.
  • Coordinate and manage tour groups and volunteers.
  • Help conduct campus tours and share information about Holston Home's programs and ministry.
  • Assist with presentations to churches, civic clubs, and other community organizations.
  • Coordinate various marketing projects, including planning, strategy, and development of materials including newsletters, appeal letters, and other publications using graphic design and layout skills.
  • Build strong working relationships with other departments to encourage effective and cooperative communication.
  • Utilize the donor database and software to maintain records related to fund development. Run reports, track gifts, and ensure that all fund development activity is captured and reported accurately.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with experience in office management and working with the public.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Professional, courteous, tactful, and confident when interacting with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and perform responsibilities without excessive supervision.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and represent Holston Home professionally in the community.
  • Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups.
  • Commitment to the mission, philosophy, and organizational values of Holston Home for Children, particularly as they relate to integrity in fundraising.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and word-processing programs. Experience with Blackbaud, Microsoft Word, Excel, Crystal Reports, InDesign is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to donor homes and offices, civic clubs, churches, and other community locations.
  • Must be able to drive and possess a valid Tennessee driver's license.
