Job description

Overview
SimVentions is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join our team! This individual will work alongside programmatic and technical experts within the program office. This includes a wide-range of M&S assets, including: digital system representations, virtual twins, system level and combat system digital test beds throughout the detect to engage sequence, Systems Engineering (SE) and Test & Evaluation (T&E) tools, target simulations/stimulators, digital and hardware threat representations, atmospheric representations, scene generators, and data visualizations.
The successful candidate will provide full-time support to the Program Office on Modeling and Simulation (M&S) activities. Primarily providing technical and programmatic services and must have ability to understand and communicate effectively with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across all levels of government and industry, Principal Assistant Program Managers (PAPMs) and Assistant Program Managers (APMs). A hybrid work environment is acceptable; however you must have the ability to work regularly in the vicinity of the Washington Navy Yard and travel up to 5-10% of the time (e.g. to NRL, APL/JHU, NSWC DD).

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements
  • 3+ year of relevant M&S experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering or programmatic support
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, provide high quality services and products, while meeting strict deadlines and time constraints
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be energetic, thoughtful, product-oriented, dependable, flexible, open-minded individual with an eagerness to learn with demonstrated strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated forward thinking and proactive problem solving skills

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a M&S strategy / roadmap.
  • Maintain and track M&S resources and a M&S catalog.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and document the Verification, Validation, and Accreditation of M&S assets.
  • Manage, track, and publish action items assigned to program from M&S IPT activities.
  • Participate in external M&S activities and system uses by combat systems and ship platform in their digital test beds throughout the planning, scheduling, readiness reviews, accreditations, data runs, data analysis, and reporting activities.
  • Participate in the program office digital engineering efforts.
  • Provide a monthly summary of M&S activities and issues to program office.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 5+ year of relevant M&S experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering or programmatic support
  • Hands-on experience utilizing M&S and related tools
  • Experience with Navy's radar, electronic warfare, and/or combat systems

Education
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar field
Compensation
Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $84,000 - $120,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
