Opportunity Overview:ย 

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for maintaining and increasing sales volume with existing and new accounts for UR's portfolio of collaborative robots and MiR's Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).ย  Located in the Bay Area, the ASM will fully manage a designated sales territory and be responsible for all business transactions and relationships within the region (Northern California & Northern Nevada).ย  The ASM will work proactively with appropriate division management, related support departments, and multi-channel partners.ย  This channel partner network will include distributors, integrators, OEMs and other companies that support customers with both mobile robots in the material handling space, and robot arms in factory automation.ย  The ASM will interface with a multitude of stakeholders at partners and customers, including Engineering, Maintenance, IT, Logistics, Management, and C-Suite.ย  This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager, West.ย 

The ideal candidate for this role will have a high-level of intellect with the energy to thrive in a challenging, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment. As a partner resource, you will have the ability to give in-depth technical product information to partners and customers; educate partners on the growing market; provide competitive intelligence; communicate new solutions from UR and MiR; and motivate partner sales teams.ย 

    • Responsible for sales goals/quotas in assigned geography.ย 
    • Manage opportunity funnel, forecasting and action plans.ย 
    • Drive KPIs and action plans to achieve annual combined target for both UR and MiR product.ย  Develop countermeasures to correct sales if a revenue gap to targetย 
    • Participate in joint visits with distributor and omni-channel sales reps to end-users, integrators, and OEM partners.ย 
    • Support existing partners through our sales process (i.e. customer visits, teams meeting, emails, PDRs, demos, proposals, pricing negotiations, all as needed).ย 
    • Canvas, initiate, qualify sales leads and follow through in partnership with Inside Sales Team to ensure a solid sales funnel.ย 
    • Lead regular business reviews with partners to mitigate challenges and drive sales growth.ย 
    • Represent Teradyne Robotics product portfolio at tradeshows and other professional activities.ย 
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace.ย 
    • Must be capable of overnight travel up to 50%; or as required.ย

    • Bachelor's degree or higher (BSEE of BSME preferred) or relevant experienceย 
    • 4-5+ years of experience in outside salesย 
    • Must have proven track record of exceeding sales quota.ย 
    • Demonstrable success in advising on/selling technical products.ย 
    • Experience working with distribution and omni-channel.ย 
    • Previous experience in industrial automation, solution/project sales involving technical productsย 
    • Business acumen that can be applied at different levels of decision makers from senior management to technical supportย 
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and writtenย 
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365ย 
    • Background with Salesforce CRM preferredย 

Compensation:ย 

The base salary range for this role is$117,700-188,400.This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.ย ย 

Sales Incentive Plan:ย This job is additionally eligible for participation in the organization's sales incentive plan.
