Job description

Your Mission & Challenges

As a Proof of Concept Engineer for Mobile Service Robots, you will lead short-cycle customer projects for NEURA's autonomous mobile service robotics solutions. You will bridge the gap between product development and customer success by rapidly deploying, validating, and optimizing robotic applications in real customer environments.

Customer Proof of Concepts & Deployments
  • Own and execute customer Proof of Concept projects.
  • Design, configure, and deploy autonomous mobile robotic solutions for customer-specific applications.
  • Demonstrate the value of NEURA Robotics technologies through hands‑on implementation and measurable customer outcomes.
  • Act as the technical interface between customers, sales and engineering teams.
Product Feedback & Innovation
  • Gather field insights and translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements.
  • Identify emerging automation opportunities and future use cases for autonomous mobile service robots.
  • Collaborate closely with software, perception, navigation, and manipulation teams to accelerate product maturity and market adoption.
Autonomous Navigation & Perception
  • Configure and optimize autonomous navigation in dynamic and unstructured environments.
  • Understand, analyze, and adapt localization, mapping, path planning, and obstacle avoidance for customer applications.
  • Tune multi‑sensor perception systems including LiDAR, RGB/RGB‑D cameras, IMUs, and additional environmental sensors.
  • Validate sensor performance and optimize perception pipelines for robust real‑world operation.
Mobile Manipulation & Application Development
  • Develop robotic applications that combine autonomous navigation with manipulation tasks.
  • Adapt manipulation strategies to varying robot poses and object locations, ensuring reliable operation despite positioning tolerances.
  • Integrate grippers, vision systems, and external automation equipment into complete customer solutions.
  • Prototype, test, and validate applications both in laboratory environments and at customer sites.
Customer Demonstrations & Technical Support
  • Conduct live product demonstrations for customers, partners, and strategic prospects.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites across Europe and internationally to support evaluations, pilots, and deployments.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges onsite and provide rapid, hands‑on solutions.
  • Represent NEURA Robotics at trade shows, customer workshops, and industry events.
What We Can Look Forward To
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous systems, automation, or related engineering fields.
  • Strong hands‑on engineering mindset with a passion for robotics, customer interaction, and rapid problem solving.
  • Experience implementing, commissioning, or supporting robotic or automation solutions in real‑world environments.
  • Solid understanding of autonomous navigation, localization, mapping, and motion planning for mobile robotic systems.
  • Experience working with multi‑sensor perception systems including LiDAR, cameras, depth sensors, and sensor fusion techniques.
  • Understanding of robotic manipulation and the challenges arising from variable robot positioning and dynamic environments.
  • Experience with Python, ROS/ROS 2, robotics software frameworks, PLCs, vision systems, or related technologies.
  • Comfortable working independently and making technical decisions in dynamic customer situations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence explaining technical solutions to customers.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing project requirements and customer needs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50–70% depending on project phase), including occasional short‑notice customer engagements.
  • Strong analytical thinking, ownership mentality, and a proactive approach to delivering customer success.
