Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager (PM) with deep experience in Esri ArcGIS platforms and GIS solutions. This role will lead the delivery of mission-critical utility GIS initiatives, including Data Management (Imagery, Lidar, Hyperspectral etc.) implementations, system modernization, cloud migration, and field mobility solutions.
The TPM will act as the technical and delivery lead, ensuring alignment between business operations, engineering, IT, and GIS teams while meeting regulatory, reliability, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
GIS Project Delivery
Lead end-to-end delivery of Data Management projects including:
ArcGIS Utility Network (Electric, Gas)
ArcGIS Enterprise deployments and upgrades
GIS system modernization and legacy migration
Integration with OMS, ADMS, CIS, EAM, SCADA, and AMI systems
Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams
Technical Oversight & Architecture
Provide technical leadership for:
ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Data Store)
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
Cloud and hybrid deployments (AWS)
Secure storage of GIS content and configurations
Stakeholder & Business Engagement
Partner with engineering, operations, field crews, IT, cybersecurity, and regulatory teams
Translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables
Communicate project status to leadership and regulatory stakeholders
Coordinate with Esri and system integrator partners
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience
7+ years of experience in technical project management or program delivery
5+ years working with utility GIS or Energy & Utilities systems
Hands-on experience delivering Data Management projects
Experience supporting 24x7 mission-critical utility systems
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in:

ArcGIS Enterprise and Web GIS architecture
Data Management (Imagery, Lidar, Hyperspectral etc.)
GIS data governance and spatial analytics
Linux and Windows server environments
Project Management Skills
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, MS Project, Azure DevOps
Strong risk, dependency, and vendor management capabilities
Excellent reporting and executive communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Esri certifications (Utility Network, ArcGIS Enterprise Administration)
PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum Master certification
Experience with electric transmission & distribution or gas pipeline networks
Knowledge of NERC, FERC, or regional regulatory requirements
