Position: HR Manager

Location: New York Tristate Area, Atlanta, GA, District of Columbia Metropolitan Area

Remote/Hybrid/On-site: This is a hybrid position and requires in office presence. The company reserves the right to modify remote work policies with limited notice.

Compensation: $85,000-$95,000. Eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan.

Offscript Worldwide, parent company to REVOLT Media & TV, creates and curates the best in hip-hop culture and engages youth in social conversation—on-air, online, and on-demand. As an unapologetically hip-hop, multi-platform company, we deliver original and acquired programming across linear and digital platforms, plus live events and brand activations nationwide.

The HR Manager is responsible for providing people-focused guidance while implementing and executing effective HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals for a staff of 100. This role requires strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to SVP, HR, and the leadership team to support the company’s mission and vision
  • Lead support for talent acquisition efforts, including job description development, FLSA evaluation, screening, selection processes and building pipeline
  • Co-lead training initiatives to develop employee and managerial capabilities, including designing and/or facilitating subject-specific sessions
  • Manage specific employee relations efforts, including investigations and conflict resolution as appropriate
  • Lead the talent recruiting, selection and orientation for exempt positions
  • Co-leads the performance management process, from launch through close
  • Assist in developing innovative, creative concepts for organizational development initiatives
  • Manage HRIS to include onboarding, offboarding, and general employee lifecycle activities. Provides useful ad-hoc reports and general training for practitioners
  • Ensure appropriate and compliant record keeping and digital file management
  • Lead reporting for wage and related EEO-1 reporting requirements are timely remitted
  • Serve as the lead benefit administrator for medical and volunteer programs, including health, retirement, and supplemental programs
  • Work as a liaison with the benefit broker to address needs/support
  • Conduct, provide, and maintain compensation and compliance analysis and reporting
  • Develop and manage an engaging internship program. Lead the process by working with leadership to determine needs and placement with a focus on building strong internal partnerships with organizations that provide media interns
  • Design and support company-wide employee engagement efforts/initiatives
  • Mentor and co-manage department coordinator/specialist and/or interns
  • Represent the department with excellence, both internally and externally
  • Accept other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work standard East Coast business hours, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m., with flexibility to work extended hours without advance notice

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Thorough knowledge of employment law to include, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, California state laws, Title VII, and overtime/hour and wage
    • Strong understanding of benefits administration, including health, leave programs and retirement saving plan
    • Current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations for CA, NY, GA, FL and MD
    • Extensive front-end and back-end experience with ADP Workforce Now (e.g., recruiting, onboarding, reporting, performance management, workflows, etc.)
    • Ability to work independently and on a team that thrives in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
    • Advanced organic writing ability and a keen sense to draft for the audience, proofread and use grammar and punctuation properly
    • Excellence in professional communication, consultation, and customer service
    • Acts with diplomacy and understating in high-stress situations
    • Experience in full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition processes
    • Seeks opportunities to increase department efficiencies
    • Ability to accept feedback and make immediate adjustments/corrections

Education/Certifications and/or Experience:

Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred; 7+ years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner required. Experience with ADP WorkforceNow and the media and digital industry is prioritized.
