Employer & IndustryFederal agencies, government contractorsVarious industries including government, private sector
Search & Comparison IntentFocus on government contracts, GSA-specific rolesGeneral contracting roles, broader industry focus

Remote Gsa Contracting involves working specifically with GSA schedules and federal government contracts, requiring specialized certifications. Remote Contract Specialists handle a wider range of contracts across industries, often with less emphasis on GSA-specific knowledge. Both roles may be remote but differ in industry focus and required credentials.

What is remote GSA contracting?

Remote GSA contracting refers to the process of managing and securing contracts with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) while working from a location outside of a traditional office, such as from home or another remote setting. GSA contractors help federal agencies purchase products and services efficiently, and remote work allows them to handle proposals, compliance, and communication virtually. This setup enables flexibility and access to government contracting opportunities without needing to be onsite, as most GSA processes and communications are handled electronically.

What are some common challenges faced when managing GSA contracts remotely, and how can they be addressed?

One of the main challenges in remote GSA contracting is staying up-to-date with frequent regulatory changes and ensuring contract compliance without face-to-face oversight. Effective communication with both internal teams and government contacts is crucial to avoid misunderstandings and ensure timely responses to contract modifications or audits. Utilizing project management tools and maintaining thorough documentation can help remote contractors stay organized and compliant. Additionally, proactively seeking training on GSA systems and building relationships with key stakeholders can make the remote environment more manageable.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote GSA Contracting Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote GSA Contracting Specialist, you need expertise in federal procurement regulations, contract management, and proposal development, often supported by a degree in business, law, or a related field. Familiarity with GSA eOffer/eMod systems, SAM.gov, and FAR/GSAR compliance certifications is typically required. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication are vital soft skills for managing complex documentation and client relationships. These competencies ensure accurate, compliant contract submissions and successful navigation of government contracting processes in a remote environment.

  • Draft contract briefs and FAR/DFARS compliance matrices.
  • Maintain and update entity registrations (SAM.gov, NAICS codes, certifications).
  • Oversee implementation and administration of prime and subcontract awards, both competitive and sole source.
  • Review solicitations and contract modifications.
  • Redline NDAs, TAs, and subcontracts within delegated authority limits.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential compliance or performance risks.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless alignment between contracts, accounting, legal, and program management.
  • Manage and track contractual documentation, deliverables, and critical milestones.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Must have 4+ years of hands-on experience administering GSA MAS Schedule including sales and compliance reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • Expert-level knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal acquisition policies.
  • Proficiency in GSA systems (e.g., eMod, GSA Advantage, FAS, FCP, IFF) and government reporting processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and ERP/CLM platforms.
  • Strategic thinker with a bias toward process improvement and client service excellence.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with full life cycle contract or subcontract management.

Why This Role Is a Great Opportunity

  • Exposure to a variety of GSA MAS contracts across the client base and full life cycle contracting and subcontracting environments.
  • Work in a collaborative, fully remote culture that values independence and integrity.
  • Excellent growth potential in a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed GovCon consulting firm.

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 (commensurate with experience).
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • 100% remote with limited domestic travel.
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities.
