POSITION OVERVIEW - The position is remote located in the USA. No relocation provided, must currently reside in the USA.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by partnering with sales to identify, develop, and close complex software and consulting opportunities within the discrete manufacturing industry. This role bridges technical expertise, business strategy, and client engagement-serving as both a strategic advisor to customers and a key contributor throughout the sales cycle.
The BDM is responsible for expanding pipeline, shaping solution strategies, and articulating clear business value to customer stakeholders ranging from operational leaders to C-suite executives. Additionally, this role functions as a business analyst, leading customer assessments to evaluate product development and manufacturing processes, uncover optimization opportunities, and define measurable business outcomes.

Revenue Generation & Sales Partnership
  • Collaborate with Sales to drive opportunities through the full sales cycle, from qualification to close
  • Support achievement of revenue targets by positioning software and consulting solutions aligned to customer needs
  • Contribute to pipeline growth through opportunity identification, qualification, and strategic account engagement
  • Participate in and support the development of Statements of Work (SOWs) and solution proposals

Customer Engagement & Advisory
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders, including department leaders and executives
  • Lead value-based conversations focused on ROI, time to value, operational efficiency, and business transformation
  • Prepare and deliver on-location or remote presentations that clearly articulate business cases, solution value, and implementation strategies

Business Analysis & Solution Development
  • Conduct onsite and remote business process assessments, ranging from half-day to multi-week engagements
  • Evaluate customer processes and the systems supporting them, with a focus on product development and manufacturing
  • Analyze product development and manufacturing workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities
  • Develop actionable recommendations, including high-level optimization roadmaps and measurable positive business outcomes

Technical & Industry Expertise
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company offerings and the broader technology landscape including Additive Manufacturing, CAD, PLM, ALM, IIoT/IoT, MES, AI, etc.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of EAC offerings around AI, and how it can improve our customers product development and manufacturing processes
  • Align customer challenges with appropriate solutions and internal subject matter experts
  • Act as a subject matter resource for both customers and internal teams

Internal Enablement & Collaboration
  • Educate, coach, and support the extended sales team on solution positioning and value articulation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with delivery, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and successful outcomes
  • Share market insights and customer feedback to inform strategy and offerings
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on evolving business needs.

Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or business analysis within the discrete manufacturing industry
  • Proven experience supporting complex, consultative sales cycles and developing account-specific close strategies
  • Background working in a collaborative sales environment with overlay or matrixed teams
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools

Industry & Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of product development and manufacturing business process
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business processes and identify optimization opportunities with measurable value
  • Experience with PLM platforms (e.g., PTC), enterprise systems, and/or IIoT/IoT solutions preferred
  • Experience with applying the latest AI technology to improve business processes and systems preferred
