This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with limited in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.
As a Principal Event Planner, you will be responsible for leading and executing a portfolio of events from initial planning through post-event analysis. This role requires hands-on ownership of event delivery, including managing logistics, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality execution aligned with business goals.
You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful event experiences for both internal and external audiences. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Event Project Management
• Lead the planning, execution, and follow-up for assigned events.
• Manage the full event lifecycle, from initial concept and planning through post-event reporting.
• Own execution of multiple events simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and at a high standard of Executive facing quality.
• Translate business objectives into detailed event plans, timelines, and run-of-show documents.
• Contribute input to overall event strategy and planning calendars.
• Coordinate all aspects of live event production, including AV, transportation, food & beverage, staffing, registration, and onsite logistics.
• Support development of communication materials such as event promotions, registration messaging, and onsite materials.
• Contribute to development of event playbooks, templates, and standardized processes.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and working through ambiguity with confidence.
• Oversee AV and event production requirements, including creation of detailed run-of-show documents and collaboration with vendors to evaluate and interpret AV proposals, labor, and technical specifications.
• Experience managing virtual and hybrid events, ensuring smooth delivery and strong attendee engagement.
Vendor and Venue Management
• Source venues, destinations, and partners aligned with event goals and budget.
• Manage relationships with external vendors including AV, catering, production teams, and event services.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts within established guidelines.
• Ensure vendors deliver on time, on budget, and in line with quality expectations.
• Support procurement, contracting, and compliance processes in partnership with internal teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Sales, HR, Communications, Leadership) to align event objectives with broader business goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop agendas, content, and attendee experiences.
• Provide regular updates on event progress, risks, and recommendations.
• Support stakeholders with planning needs including content coordination, messaging alignment, and event execution.
Onsite Event Management
• Travel to event locations to oversee onsite execution.
• Manage setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring seamless delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors, venues, and internal teams to address issues in real time.
• Ensure a high-quality experience for attendees, stakeholders, and partners.
Budget Management
• Develop, manage, and track event budgets.
• Monitor expenses, forecast costs, and ensure alignment with financial targets.
• Reconcile final billing and ensure timely submission to Finance.
• Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies while maintaining event quality.
Event Metrics and Reporting
• Establish and track key event performance metrics (KPIs), including attendance, engagement, and effectiveness.
• Collect and analyze post-event feedback and data.
• Develop post-event reports with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Communication
• Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle.
• Provide clear updates on timelines, deliverables, and potential risks.
• Present event outcomes, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:
• 6-8+ years of experience in event planning or event management.
• Bachelor's Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience managing a variety of events, including corporate meetings, conferences, or tradeshows.
Skills:
• Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Ability to independently plan and execute complex events from start to finish.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience managing event budgets, vendor negotiations, and financial reconciliation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting development and knowledge sharing without direct management responsibility.

  • Up to 30% travel is required for onsite event and incentive program management, with occasional increases during peak periods

The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $107,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
