Job Summary

The Supervisor, Remote Operations supports the day-to-day logistics and operational functions related to ESPN's remote broadcasts. Reporting to Operational Management, this role works closely with Operation Producers, Coordinators, and specialist to ensure consistency in planning, vendor relations, equipment tracking, credentialing, travel logistics, and event support. The supervisor plays a key role in executing operational tasks and helping facilitate the seamless delivery of ESPN's productions.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison with mobile unit providers, technical vendors, and freelancers to ensure accuracy in event planning and support documentation.
  • Support onsite and remote event execution through active communication with crewing, production, and operations leads.
  • Help manage inventory, storage, and maintenance of production-related equipment used throughout the sports season.
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy in planning documents, team trackers, and scheduling tools.
  • Submit and track vendor payments, invoices, purchase orders, and freelancer timecards in coordination with finance and operations teams.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new coordinators or seasonal staff.
  • Provide real-time support during event broadcasts, including troubleshooting travel, equipment, or staffing issues.
  • Uphold all departmental and company policies related to operations, safety, and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in sports media operations, broadcast logistics, or live event production.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working in team-based settings with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with production compounds, vendor management, and event logistics.
  • Proficiency in SmartSheet and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting remote sports broadcasts.
  • Working knowledge of internal ESPN systems (Playbook, NCS, SAP).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Sports Management, or related field.
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $105,100 to $140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
