What is the difference between Remote Event Producer vs Remote Event Coordinator?

AspectRemote Event ProducerRemote Event Coordinator
CredentialsExperience in event planning, production skills, sometimes certifications in event managementSimilar credentials, often with additional focus on logistics and communication skills

Industry UsageUsed across corporate, entertainment, and nonprofit sectors for high-level event managementCommon in corporate and nonprofit sectors for supporting event execution

While both roles involve remote work and event planning, the Remote Event Producer focuses on overseeing the entire event production process, including technical and creative elements. The Remote Event Coordinator handles logistical details and supports the producer, ensuring smooth event execution. Both roles require strong communication skills and experience in event management, but the producer typically has a broader scope and higher responsibility.

What are some common challenges Remote Event Producers face when coordinating virtual events, and how can they be managed?

Remote Event Producers often encounter challenges such as technical difficulties, coordinating across time zones, and ensuring smooth communication among remote teams and speakers. To manage these issues, it's important to establish clear communication channels, perform thorough technical rehearsals, and create detailed run-of-show documents. Additionally, having contingency plans for potential tech failures and assigning clear roles within the team can help ensure successful and seamless event execution.

What are remote event producers?

Remote event producers are professionals who plan, coordinate, and manage virtual or hybrid events from a remote location. They oversee the technical aspects, such as live streaming, video conferencing, and digital engagement tools, to ensure events run smoothly online. Their responsibilities often include working with speakers, troubleshooting technical issues, and creating a seamless experience for attendees. Remote event producers play a key role in adapting traditional event production to virtual platforms, making events accessible to a global audience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Event Producer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Event Producer, you need expertise in project management, event planning, and virtual production, often supported by experience in digital events or a related degree. Familiarity with technical platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or ON24, as well as proficiency in streaming, broadcasting tools, and sometimes certifications in event management, are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help you manage remote teams and adapt to live event changes. These skills ensure seamless virtual event execution, client satisfaction, and the ability to handle technical or logistical challenges in real-time.

Who We Areย
Hi! We're Thinkingbox, the brief to built agency. Creating innovative digital, experiential, social, and content, we partner with leading brands across industries like sports, gaming, entertainment, and technology. We believe the hands that carefully craft the work should belong to the minds that dreamed it. So while others pass the buck, we're already building. Because our thinkers are also the makers. Culture is at the heart of who we are, and our offices are hubs of natural collaboration. From hanging out with our office dogs to enjoying Thursday happy hours, we keep our work environment vibrant, welcoming, and fun. Each year, we also encourage our people to spend a month exploring the world, whether that means working from another office or even from the beaches of Mexico, to expand their perspectives and bring fresh inspiration back to the team.

The Opportunityย
We're looking for a Senior Producer with strong motion and post-production production expertise to lead integrated campaigns across live action and content. You'll work with global clients across gaming, tech, and entertainment, supporting projects from concept through delivery. While the work spans multiple mediums, your core strength is producing motion-led initiatives, managing shoots, crews, and post workflows, and helping bring cohesive campaigns to life. You're comfortable navigating complexity and delivering high-quality work on time and on budget.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead production for integrated campaigns with a strong motion and post-production component
  • Own all phases of production, from scoping and timelines through shoot logistics and delivery
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and client teams to align across disciplines
  • Manage vendors, production partners, and freelance crews
  • Serve as the day-to-day production lead with clients
  • Problem-solve to maintain creative quality while protecting schedules and budgets
What You'll Bring
  • 6+ years of production experience, with strong motion and post-production expertise
  • Experience producing integrated campaigns across motion and content
  • Solid understanding of production budgeting, scheduling, and resourcing
  • Experience working with agencies and top-tier brands
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, productions, and company events. A valid passport and driver's licence are required
Bonus Points!
  • Experience in XM and digital production is a plus
Additional Info
  • Monday - Thursday in office (Fridays are remote optional)
  • Flexible time off, including paid vacation and sick days
  • Consistent culture and team-building events
  • Employee recognition and incentive programs
  • Seasonal celebrations and gatherings throughout the year
  • Office lunches
  • Branded company swag
  • Access to industry events, learning opportunities, and non-profit outreaches
  • Dog-friendly offices
  • Unlimited coffee, drinks, and snacks
  • Flex work and travel options
  • Comprehensive extended health benefits
  • 401k matching
$85,000 - $95,000 a year
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as internal equity, candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. If your compensation expectations fall outside of this range, we still welcome your application.
