What is Remote Equine Assisted Learning?

Remote Equine Assisted Learning is a therapeutic and educational process that uses the presence and behavior of horses to facilitate personal growth and learning, conducted virtually rather than in person. Participants engage in guided activities and discussions with a facilitator who may use live video feeds or recorded sessions with horses. This approach allows individuals to benefit from equine-assisted techniques even if they cannot physically be present with the horses. It is often used for developing emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and coping strategies. The remote format makes this unique form of learning accessible to a wider audience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator, you need a background in equine behavior, facilitation skills, and knowledge of experiential learning principles, often supported by relevant certifications such as EAGALA or PATH Intl. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and online learning management systems is essential for delivering sessions remotely. Excellent communication, empathy, and adaptability are critical soft skills for building trust and engaging clients in a virtual environment. These skills ensure effective learning experiences, participant safety, and the successful achievement of client goals in a remote setting.

What is the difference between Remote Equine Assisted Learning vs Remote Equine Therapist?

Remote Equine Assisted Learning focuses on educational and developmental activities using horses, often in a virtual or outdoor setting. In contrast, Remote Equine Therapists provide clinical mental health services with specialized therapy credentials. While both roles involve horses and remote work, their goals, credentials, and client outcomes differ significantly.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Remote Equine Assisted Learning roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Remote Equine Assisted Learning often encounter challenges related to effectively engaging clients and maintaining strong connections without in-person interaction. Building rapport and ensuring clear communication can be more complex when working remotely, especially since much of the learning depends on observing subtle cues from both clients and horses. To address these challenges, practitioners typically rely on high-quality video conferencing tools, structured session plans, and ongoing training in virtual facilitation techniques. Regular check-ins and clear feedback mechanisms also help maintain a supportive and productive remote learning environment.

Job description

Description

We are Surgence.

We are done accepting a healthcare supply chain that breaks when it's needed most. Surgence exists to keep healthcare alive in every community by transforming how the industry thinks, strategizes, and executes.

We are building more than software. We are building an industry operating hub - an orchestration layer above systems of record - where visibility becomes shared truth and insight becomes coordinated action across enterprises.

We believe fragmentation is the root cause of failure. Disconnected systems, teams, and decisions create blind spots, delay response, and drive waste - especially during disruption. Surgence exists to replace fragmentation with coordination.

As a team member at Surgence, you'll be signing up for a rocket ride where reinvention is constant. We move with urgency, embrace intensity, and prioritize outcomes over activity. Charging through the storm together, we will not be satisfied until reliable care is the default - everywhere.

Surgence is a cloud-based ecosystem committed to revolutionizing the healthcare supply chain. The platform serves as a comprehensive solution for providers, distributors and suppliers, ensuring seamless coordination, efficiency and visibility across the supply chain. Surgence integrates flexible connectivity and development, advanced analytics, alerts and workflow capabilities to enable proactive decision-making, risk mitigation and collaborative forecasting to advance the healthcare supply chain. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to lead the Customer Success team and play a pivotal role in the development of our groundbreaking supply chain technology platform.

We are seeking a full-time Senior Architect in any Surgence location or fully remote. The Senior Architect serves as the technical authority responsible for designing, scaling, and optimizing the data and application architecture that supports mission-critical operational workflows. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Palantir Foundry, along with strong architectural judgment across data ingestion, ontology design, application frameworks, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

This position is highly execution-oriented and forward-looking, emphasizing modern engineering practices and AI-assisted workflows and delivery. The Senior Architect defines the long-term evolution of the platform, ensures consistency and scalability across technical teams, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Delivery leadership to align architecture with business priorities, operational requirements, and customer needs.

Essential Functions
  • Architecture & Platform Strategy
    • Own the end-to-end architectural integrity of the Palantir Technologies Foundry platform, including data ingestion and integration, ontology and semantic modeling, application and workflow layers, and production operations support.
    • Lead architecture decisions for complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple business units, systems, or technical domains.
    • Translate business objectives and product strategies into scalable, secure, and technically sound execution roadmaps that support future AI and machine learning capabilities.
    • Identify architectural risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies that protect delivery timelines, platform stability, and customer outcomes.
  • Data, Ontology & Integration
    • Establish architectural standards for ontology-driven data modeling, application development patterns, pipeline frameworks, and system integration methodologies.
    • Define scalable, supportable patterns for data operations, ingestion frameworks, and operational monitoring across enterprise environments.
    • Design scalable solutions for batch and real-time data ingestion, third-party integrations, data validation, quality monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
    • Ensure all data flows, dependencies, and integrations are clearly documented, transparent, and supportable.
    • Serve as the recognized subject matter expert for Foundry platform capabilities, including ontology design, transform pipelines, data products, application development, and lineage/observability.
  • Security, Reliability & Production Readiness
    • Ensure security controls, performance optimization, reliability, and cost efficiency are embedded into platform design.
    • Establish production readiness standards, including tenant isolation, role-based access controls, auditability, data lineage, monitoring/alerting, and operational handoff procedures.
    • Serve as the final escalation point for critical platform-impacting technical issues and drive timely resolution.
  • AI Forward Enablement and Design
    • Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve design quality, coding efficiency, testing effectiveness, and documentation standards.
    • Define and oversee patterns for integrating machine learning and AI capabilities into platform solutions, including feature readiness, model inference workflows, and human-in-the-loop processes.
    • Partner with data science and machine learning specialists as needed while maintaining overall architectural ownership and accountability.
    • Ensure AI-enabled capabilities are secure, observable, maintainable, and governed in alignment with business and regulatory standards.
  • Leadership, Governance & Engineering Enablement
    • Define, implement, and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference models, and governance guardrails to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
    • Guide engineering teams to leverage platform-native capabilities and best practices rather than custom or unsustainable technical solutions.
    • Provide architecture reviews, technical oversight, and strategic guidance to senior engineers, technical leads, and delivery leadership.
    • Mentor and coach senior engineers, technical leads, and delivery leaders to elevate technical capability, architectural maturity, and engineering standards across the organization.
    • Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and development of technical talent within the organization.
    • Lead by example through sound judgment, clear communication, strategic decision-making, and hands-on technical contribution when required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, platform engineering, backend systems, or related technical leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Palantir Technologies Foundry in production environments.
  • Proven success designing and scaling complex enterprise data platforms and distributed systems.
  • Expertise in ontology-driven data modeling, data engineering principles, operational pipelines, system integrations, and workflow automation.
  • Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, platform security, and role-based access control frameworks.
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled capabilities in production, including familiarity with ML lifecycle concepts, intelligent automation, and/or model inference workflows.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, delivery speed, and solution quality.
  • Demonstrated success influencing enterprise technology strategy across multiple teams, including mentoring engineers and elevating architectural standards.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Industry experience in healthcare and/or supply chain, logistics, operations, or other highly regulated environments; comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces.
  • Strong skills in Foundry-relevant languages and paradigms (e.g., Python, SQL, ontology-driven design), and ability to translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions for non-technical end users.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check and drug screening.

Work Location:

  • This role is located in any Surgence location or fully remote.

Compensation: $190,000.00-$250,000.00 salaried with a 10% variable compensation.
