A career in Data Privacy at Kohler provides an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and rapidly evolving field partnering as a subject matter expert with teams in smart product development, IOT, marketing and advertising, web development, IT systems, privacy by design, global shared service centers, and procurement/vendor compliance.  Kohler operates in over 40 countries and privacy is a key component of those operations.  This role sits in the unique position of partnering with Kohler's new product development teams, marketing teams, and digital products.  Our business partners and customers alike expect our team to bring business-minded solutions that balance privacy requirements and expectations with enablement of key market strategies.  Our model is designed to position Kohler as a privacy leader in manufacturing and serve as a differentiator in the global market.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Privacy-by-design

  • Drive the planning, implementation, administration and communication of data privacy compliance and privacy-by-design in key functions such as connected products, digital products, and marketing. 
  • Identify and recommend technical solutions to manage privacy risks in products, market tests, digital products, and other consumer-facing endeavors.
  • Develop and perform product privacy consultations, product specific privacy policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with new product development and IOT teams in creating new uses of data that employ privacy features. 

Enable End-user Control

  • Manage cookie compliance across all domains. 
  • Manage enterprise privacy rights management. 

Privacy and Security Operations

  • Lead privacy impact assessment (PIA) process.  
  • Maintain statutory records of processing required under Article 30 of the GDPR and other jurisdictions.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to align security controls to privacy compliance obligations and best practices.  
  • Partner with Cybersecurity on incident response training, strategy, runbooks, and triage. 

Privacy Compliance

  • Assist with regular updates and modifications to privacy notices. 
  • Develop and maintain ongoing reporting mechanisms to identify and manage data privacy compliance risks and exposures in key functions. 
  • Develop and deploy privacy training and related educational materials.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and trends in data privacy, data ethics and responsible AI and develop strategic recommendations and implementation plans accordingly.  

Communication and cross-functional collaboration

  • Build trust and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in all business units and corporate functions. 
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement global AI strategy and processes while assessing new AI solutions for risks and opportunities.
  • Develop corrective action plans to ensure compliance with global data privacy framework and deliver recommendations to senior leadership.  Â
