The Team You’ll Join  

The Data Privacy team at Envestnet helps safeguard one of the company’s most important assets—data. Working closely with Legal, Security, Product, and Engineering teams, they embed privacy-by-design principles into business processes, technology solutions, and client experiences while ensuring compliance with evolving privacy regulations. Through privacy impact assessments, risk management, policy development, and incident response support, the team plays a critical role in protecting customer trust and strengthening the company’s security posture. How You’ll Contribute   

Provides leadership and oversight for the Data Privacy group. Oversees team efforts to establish and implement policies, procedures and protocol for protecting sensitive financial and personal information across wealth management and advisory platforms. Establishes and oversees privacy governance, policies and controls to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws. Partners with legal, security, product and technical teams to embed privacy protocols into systems and processes.
•    Leads a defined data privacy function (i.e., compliance operations, data governance or privacy risk assessment, with accountability for execution, quality and timeliness.
•    Implements enterprise privacy policies, standards and controls.
•    Oversees day-to-day privacy operations within assigned area.
•    Partners with Legal, Information Security, IT Governance, Risk & Compliance teams to ensure policy alignment and effective governance.
•    Reviews proposed engagement contracts and SLAs to identify implications of contractual language regarding data privacy, working with internal teams to address deficiencies and ensure appropriate wording is developed and applied.
•    Facilitates discussions enterprise-wide to ensure company services address data security and privacy risks and align with and address client, business and regulatory needs.
•    Plays a key role, working with Information Security teams to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs, including policies, practices, investigations.
•    Stays abreast of industry, regulatory and company changes and trends in data security and privacy information management.
•    Serves as a senior privacy leader and trusted partner to privacy and security leadership, helping drive the maturity, consistency, and effectiveness of the enterprise privacy program.
•    Leads privacy impact assessments (PIAs/DPIAs), data mapping, and privacy-by-design reviews in partnership with Product and Engineering teams.
•    Supports privacy-related incident response and breach notification activities in coordination with Information Security and other stakeholders.
•    Provides leadership, coaching, and development for privacy team members, including responsibility for performance management, talent development, and team growth.

What You’ll Need to Bring  

•    Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.
•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
•    Demonstrated working knowledge of US privacy/data protection regulations (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, state privacy laws) and familiarity with global frameworks (e.g., GDPR).
•    Active privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

Nice-to-Haves  

•    8+ years of experience in data privacy program management, ideally within financial services, fintech, or a similarly regulated industry.
•    3+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and developing technical/privacy professionals.
•    Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop distributed teams across multiple time zones while maintaining strong program execution.
•    Based in the continental US, with flexibility to support both Eastern and Pacific (and IST to an extent) time zone collaboration.

Our Investment in You 

This role offers a base salary range of $167,000 - $209,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
