Job description

The Cybersecurity & Privacy Analyst supports attorneys in the firm’s cybersecurity, data privacy, and incident response practice. This role performs a combination of billable client-facing support work and internal administrative functions, assisting with data breach investigations, regulatory compliance matters, and cybersecurity-related litigation and advisory engagements. The position is designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of legal teams by providing research, analysis, and project coordination support. 

Key Responsibilities

Billable / Client-Facing Support:

  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and industry research on cybersecurity, data privacy, and incident response issues (e.g., state breach notification laws, HIPAA, GDPR, and emerging cybersecurity regulations)

  • Support data breach and incident response matters by:

  • Tracking key facts, timelines, and response obligations

  • Coordinating with forensic investigators, vendors, and client stakeholders

  • Assisting in the preparation of incident reports and regulatory notifications

  • Assist with document review, organization, and production in cybersecurity-related litigation and investigations

  • Support diligence and risk assessments in transactions involving cybersecurity and data privacy issues

Non-Billable / Internal Support:

  • Maintain internal templates, trackers, and knowledge management resources for the cybersecurity practice

  • Monitor and summarize developments in cybersecurity law, enforcement actions, and industry trends

  • Assist with drafting client alerts, blog posts, and marketing materials

  • Support practice group operations, including matter management and workflow coordination

  • Help develop internal playbooks for incident response and regulatory compliance 

 Qualifications & Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include cybersecurity, information systems, library sciences, political science, or a related discipline

  • Ability to understand and translate technical concepts into clear, concise summaries

  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills

  • Must have a strong attention to detail skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and technical experts

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable

  • Must be an AI power user and regularly, strategically, and effectively use these tools to improve work product

This is an entry-level position, and the position requires on-site work in the Nashville office.
