Proposal Manager- Remote San Antonio, Texas Type: Contract Compensation: $48.51 - $61.75 Work Model: Remote – offsite Hours: 40.0 System One is seeking a Proposal Manager to join our team in San Antonio, TX for a contract/ as-needed opportunity. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team in developing complex proposals to craft compliant, responsive, and compelling deliverables that solve customer problems and differentiate the company from competitors.
  • Set the overall strategy for proposal development and maintain a high level of decision-making authority.
  • Hold team members accountable for their work, provide timely feedback, and recognize contributions to motivate throughout the process.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, including capture teams.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder relationships and communicate proposal strategies and progress to senior leadership.
  • Address and resolve issues or conflicts within the team, mediate disagreements, and find solutions to challenges.
  • Refine and optimize proposal processes and best practices to drive pursuit excellence.
  • Perform detailed analysis of RFP/RFQ/RFI documents to assess requirements and develop compelling proposal narratives.
  • Build compliance matrices, schedules, and annotated outlines.
  • Manage interactions with capture teams, SMEs, graphics teams, and desktop publishing teams to develop proposal content, templates, and standards.
  • Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings, milestone reviews, and strategy workshops to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Write non-technical portions of the proposal including cover letters, executive summaries, project descriptions, resumes, and qualification statements.
  • Review drafts for compliance, responsiveness, accuracy, and quality.
  • Establish proposal schedules and resource plans to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Oversee client interview preparation, collateral development, and coaching activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance win rates.
  • Collaborate with business development to develop collateral related to pre-positioning activities.
  • Manage proposal production schedules and ensure all documents are delivered on time.
  • Maintain CRM records and perform closeout activities, including lessons learned.
Requirements
  • Strong facilitation, leadership, and communication skills to lead capture teams through pursuit lifecycle.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills for developing executive summaries and non-technical sections.
  • Ability to inspire teams with diverse technical backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to work under stressful deadlines, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • Proven multi-tasking and delegation skills across overlapping schedules.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Four-year degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Approximately 12+ years of proposal management experience or equivalent.
  • Certification such as APMP or PMP preferred.
  • AEC industry experience, especially in large program proposals and alternative project delivery methods, highly desirable.
