Social & Brand Strategist (Remote)
Overview:
Weedmaps is seeking a Social & Brand Strategist to shape the company's social, editorial, and audience engagement strategy. This role sits at the intersection of culture, audience insight, social behavior, creative strategy, and editorial programming. The Social & Brand Strategist identifies emerging trends, audience tensions, platform behaviors, and white-space opportunities that evolve into creative campaigns, editorial themes, and culturally relevant storytelling initiatives.
The impact you'll make:
  • Monitor platform trends, creator ecosystems, internet culture, and audience behaviors.
  • Identify cultural opportunities that can evolve into campaigns, social content, and editorial programming.
  • Translate audience insight into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Develop strategic inputs and creative briefs rooted in audience behavior and business opportunity.
  • Partner with Creative Leadership to evolve strategic insights into campaign platforms.
  • Collaborate with Editorial and Social teams on content calendars, recurring franchises, and creator programming.
  • Connect Learn, The Feed, social, lifecycle, and creator content into a cohesive content ecosystem.
  • Analyze audience engagement and content performance.
  • Identify repeatable content frameworks and scalable creative systems.
  • Share audience learnings across Creative, Editorial, Lifecycle, Product Marketing, and Growth teams.

What you've accomplished:
  • 7+ years in social strategy, creative strategy, content strategy, editorial strategy, or brand marketing.
  • Experience developing platform-native content strategies.
  • Strong understanding of creator ecosystems, internet culture, and audience behavior.
  • Experience developing audience-driven creative briefs and campaigns.

Bonus points:
  • Strong editorial instincts.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of cannabis culture and creator communities.
  • Experience working in highly collaborative cross-functional environments.

The base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 per year, and a competitive bonus
