Job description

Please Note: This is a remote position available in the state listed on this job. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.

AI at BambooHR

At BambooHR, we're all about setting people free to do great work, and we believe AI is a powerful partner in that mission. We're leaning into intelligent tools to streamline our workflows, giving us more time for high-impact innovation. We look for curious, forward-thinking people who are ready to explore how AI can elevate their work and help us reimagine the future of HR.

Essential Job Duties

The Sr. Director, Integrated & Brand Marketing is responsible for defining and scaling BambooHR's brand presence, market perception, and top-of-funnel demand creation strategy. This leader owns brand strategy, integrated campaigns, content marketing, media investment, events, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships while ensuring a consistent narrative across the customer journey. The role partners closely with Product Marketing, Revenue Marketing, Creative, and Executive Leadership to position BambooHR as the most trusted HR platform for SMB organizations in an evolving AI-driven buying landscape. Success in this role requires balancing creative excellence, measurable business impact, and strong cross-functional leadership while managing significant marketing investments and leading a high-performing team.

You will:

  • Own BambooHR's brand positioning, messaging architecture, narrative strategy, and visual identity across all channels.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns designed to drive brand awareness, market consideration, and top-of-funnel demand generation.
  • Establish and monitor brand health metrics including awareness, sentiment, share of voice, consideration, and emerging AI-search visibility.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to align brand strategy with product value propositions, customer needs, and competitive differentiation.
  • Lead enterprise content marketing strategy, editorial direction, and thought leadership initiatives to strengthen market credibility and audience engagement.
  • Ensure campaign consistency and messaging continuity across brand, demand generation, nurture, and conversion programs.
  • Own media planning and investment strategy across digital, social, video, audio, sponsorship, event, and emerging channels.
  • Manage external agency relationships, including media, public relations, and international marketing partners, ensuring accountability for performance and outcomes.
  • Oversee and influence up to $20M in annual marketing investment and optimize spend against business objectives and brand efficiency metrics.
  • Lead sponsorship, partnership, and event strategies, including flagship industry events and strategic brand activations.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on brand, market trends, AI-driven discovery, and marketing investment decisions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and measurable business impact across the marketing organization.

Success in the First 180 Days

  • Activate and scale the refreshed BambooHR brand platform across major channels.
  • Establish a clear measurement framework for brand performance and AI-driven discovery.
  • Evaluate and optimize agency relationships and media investment strategies.
  • Deliver integrated campaign plans aligned to annual company objectives.
  • Strengthen collaboration and campaign handoffs between Brand, Product Marketing, Revenue Marketing, and Creative teams.
  • Present strategic recommendations and performance insights to executive leadership.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, integrated marketing, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven experience building and scaling B2B SaaS, technology, or comparable growth-stage brands.
  • Experience managing large-scale marketing investments exceeding $15M annually.
  • Deep expertise in brand strategy, media planning, campaign development, content marketing, and demand creation.
  • Strong understanding of modern media ecosystems, attribution models, audience strategy, and marketing analytics.
  • Meaningful direct experience at or embedded within an advertising or media agency — sufficient to plan and buy media, push back on agency recommendations, and hold partners accountable to outcomes.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency through changed practice, not stated belief: you or your team works materially differently because of AI tools — in campaign development, content production, audience research, or measurement — and you can show how.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how AI systems surface and recommend software — and a track record of building content and brand programs that influence those outputs. As search gives way to agent-mediated discovery, this role is on the front line of ensuring BambooHR shows up where buyers — and their agents — are looking.
  • Track record building content and campaign frameworks that mid-funnel and downstream teams can actually use: messaging guides, campaign toolkits, asset libraries — not just brand strategy decks. Accountable for narrative coherence through the buyer journey without owning conversion.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and holding partners accountable to measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and decision-making skills.
  • ***This role will require ongoing travel to our HQ in Utah.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • Experience within HCM, HR technology, or workforce management industries.
  • Experience leading global or multi-region brand initiatives.
  • Experience with sponsorship portfolio management and major event marketing programs.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership teams and / or boards of directors.

What You'll Love About Us

  • A Great Company Culture that has been recognized by multiple organizations like Inc, and Salt Lake Tribune
  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance
  • Generous leave policies that include 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off so you can enjoy quality of life
  • 401k plans with up to 6% company match
  • $2000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus
